Note: this is book three of the a series covering one story and just being cut on three pieces. So jumping in here is a bad idea. I strongly recommend to start with the first book and read all of them in die intended order.ReviewLike the last book, book 3 startet right the minute where the prequel left off: Wild is kissing the Colt guy - and Rory surprises them. But that is just the first few pages, like the two other books, there is breathless non-stop action from there on. It’s now apparent that someone rigged the trials and the final two tests Wild and her crew of misfits have to live through, namely House of Night and House of Wonder, now openly veer from the official playbook and it’s clear that someone is out to kill Wild and get rid of the others as potential witnesses. More than ever, the five of them (since Gregory the goblin is still missing) need to work together to stay alive. Which is hard, since there are doubts about where the loyalties of some of the group lay.This time, it’s Wally and Ethan who are tested the most, although it’s always Wild who pulls them together and makes them push through. I was satisfied that the secret of Wild’s powers is revealed, as is the culprit of the whole machination and the attempts on Wild’s life.Yet there there are questions unanswered, the trilogy is only about the Culling Trials, their outcome and the crimes at hand. I guess that there will be more books about the Shadowspell Academy and I’d be happy about it, if I were right.Overall, this third installment was a good one and I’m going to give it five stars, although I have to admit that for me, it’s the weakest installment. The other two were like a breathless rush, maybe my surprise had worn off here, I don’t know. Anyway, it’s a fine ending of the Culling Trials and the story arc.
The Shadowspell Academy is an amazing read, every book read in a single sitting, I just couldn't put it down. Its all in here, humour, challenges, blood, death and a smidgen of posdible romance, glad to say there are so e unanswered questions, which means theres got to be anothet book o the horizon, yeah! Thank you. And glad it hit the Bestsellers List. Well worth it.
Normally I am one for fantasy with a good love story around. But these three books are all about friendship and hardships to overcome. And damn, that was one fine last book here. I won't forget the story soom, it still lingers in my head. It was so wholesome. I loved every piece of it. I hope there will be more of this. I would definitely read it. But I am still very very happy with the ending.
Ich hoffe inständig dass diese Serie nicht bereits zu Ende sind !Die Trials waren sehr spannend und jetzt möchte ich wissen wie es weiter geht mit Wild und ihrer Clique!Absolut empfehlenswert!
Liked all 3 books of the culling trials. Hope there's more to come! Seems to be a great cooperation between Breene and Mayer.
The two authors are brilliant, the world they created is great and the heroine and her crew is awesome. The story is nothing very new- simmilar to some other stories with heroines which had no magic/ abilities at all in the beginning and at the end she is super-extremly-extraordinary talented...But it was very exciting to follow her development and I couldn't stop reading! So please write more!
